Mike

Born in Southbridge MA in 1969.. Picked up the guitar around the age of 13, Took a few guitar lessons here and there, but never got serious with it other than playing some open chords and the beginning of some songs.. then dropped it around the age of 20. One day at my neighbors party, an old friend says to.. "Dude.. You should pick up your guitar again" I don't know if it was in my drunkenness, but it stuck in my head. I ended up trading a car amplifier for a beat up washburn electric guitar.. picked up a small practice amp.. and started to play.. I was hooked! I mean really hooked on playing that thing.. Well about a year goes by, and my neighbor's band was playing at his party next door.. I said.. I need to be doing that.. Next day I told my neighbor I wanted to be in the band.. I don't care if I had to play the harmonica.. I just wanted to be a part of it. Well a few months later they called me.. their guitar player quit, and asked me to be a part of their band. I remember getting that phone call.. I was so excited.. Things just opened up for me.. Started learning all these tunes, most of all, learning how to play with other people. A couple years pass.. and ended up with another project band playing with my cousin Suzy. Well we really had something there! We all had chemistry together. We started playing out and actually made some money doing it. It's an awesome feeling to actually get some scratch for doing something that you love. I took some guitar lessons for a little while a couple years back learned some scales that helped me quite a bit, but I really didn't jive with the teacher that well.. He was an awesome guy, but he was a jazzy guitar player, and it really wasn't my style.. I found this dude on craigslist offering the sickest guitar lessons.. That dude is Ben Carroll from the Band Ra.. I can't tell you how much I love the way he teaches me. He ROCKS! Thank You BEN!! In the short time I've been taking lessons.. It's really helping me bring my playing abilities up to another level! Any who.. that's my little tid bit from my life.. hope your still awake... Mike
